Resting on a bench in Santiago de Compostela suffering from a bout of museum fatigue, I was suddenly accosted with loud bagpipe Celtic music and before I knew it, a merry band had descended on the sidewalk below where I was sitting. Passer-bys, locals and tourists alike, were exhorted to join in the folk dancing, and so they did sportingly in a spontaneous moment of merriment and festivity. A couple of snapshots, and it was all over in a jiffy with the crowd dispersed. Just another delightful Spanish encounter on my Camino de Santiago de Compostela (the Way of St James) pilgrim journey. Spain Camino series. 2010.
